someone said on here that this guy had a rocket for an arm.....tell him i'd like to see it at least once this season. if he played semi-pro, he needs to go back there.....indoor ball is proving to be too much for him. i asked simms why he did'nt play....seems that the qb coach is #12...hmmm....since he can't realize he sucks, maybe coach miller should see it and play simms.....lets face it.....the passing game is bad because the ol can't block, and #12 must not have known the stingers wore black jerseys...turnovers killed the stingers chances.
so....since the passing game is'nt there....play simms and bring a running game with the qb position. i saw #12 after the game with his hat turned backwards laughing and saying to a fan that it was a good game,....too bad we lost? what? he should've covered his face with that hat and went home......terrible describes his play...........
coach miller, do the right thing and play simms.....things can't get worse.

I think you're right. You really shouldn't have a coach playing the game anyways. You can't be impartial to the position(s), players or the team if you have a vested interest in being the starter. Sure the OL needs some improvement, but I think they did an admirable job all in all.
Run the ball, work some short screen plays and see what develops downfield as the game wears on and you establish your ground attack. The only reason our passing game fails is because we don't try hard enough to bring the defenders in to cover the short plays. If they know all you can do is go 15+ yards on a pass, that's what they'll defend against. Then you have a big fat nothing.

Stinger1, Don't be knockin' semi pro ball .the football is of much higher quality than the NIFL. Except for the light, music and comfortable seats for the fans you can see much better football at a semi pro game. oh we dont have honey bees either.Check the shedule for the Redawgs or The Express and come see us play when we play in Columbia at Fort Jackson. anyone on either team will tell you that when these two teams meet that the football dosnt get much better on any level. And commitment! We wash cars to raise travel money. We take care of our fields. Our wives work the ticket booth and sell concessions. We buy our own equipment. all for no pay, just to play. Tell the NIFL players one week that they won't get paid and you'll have no football

dude i'm not knocking semi-pro....i was helping out the charleston firecats last season and i agree, there are alot of great games and the caliper of play is very good.....i admire you guys for doing what you do....i plan on bringing semi-pro back to charleston next year....in fact i would like to talk to you off the boards if possible about some pointers and advice. if kent is better in semi-pro than he should stick with that....indoor ball is alot different than outdoor ball......dan boland was our qb for the sandsharks last year in the nifl....he came over to qb for the firecats and he struggled to adjust to the outdoor play. it did come around and he got better, but there is a big difference. maybe kent is the man in semi-pro......but indoor ball proves to be a struggle for him.....coach miller should see that and bench the guy.

Your semi pro team may be better than the Stingers, but as far as the NIFL goes....nowhere near the same level.

Stinger 1 , I think you are correct indoor play is not for certain players. A pock passer like Kent or 300+ pound o-lineman that can't move may be better suited for traditional football. ru4real,I have not seen many indoor games but I can think of 5 semi pro teams just in the state of south carolina that can beat any NIFL team that I have seen play and that is 4 real. We play in the SEAFL and 6 of our teams could beat what Ive seen so far.The game is of better quality in semi pro. where are you from RU4REAL? Let me know and I'll tell you of a semi pro team in your area then you can go see for yourself.

I have seen a few semipro games and in general its bad! There are always a few good players, but normaly its bad. If the semi pro guys your talking about are on your level, then they are way behind the NIFL talent curve ive been apart of. Thats not to say that all the players are in the NIFL are good, or that all semi pro guys are bad. I know a few semipro guys in my area who are some good ball players.

I don't know much about the Semi pro level of play, I'll admit that much, but I DO know that most semi pro teams have practice fields, equipment and PADS to practice with. The Stingers are practicing in basically a sand lot with no equipment, at half-speed no contact because of equipment issues.
Just with the practice/equipment advantage, the semi pro teams are going to be better prepared to play a solid game of football.

Again you cant look at the Stingers. The good teams in the NIFL are not like that. The Stingers owners have tied their hands behind their back.

BILL, TO CORRECT YOU WE DO GO FULL SPEED WITH NO PADS AT PRACTICE. THATS WHY WE HAVE PEOPLE OUT EVERY WEEK DUE TO INJURY'S. SOUNDS ODD HUH? ANYWAYS THANKS FOR EVERYTHING YOU ARE DOING FOR US. WE ALL ARE REALLY THANKFUL.

i really appreciate football players on this team, and i know i'm hard on certain ones, but i'm a fan...and any good football player should welcome criticism, it should push you to do better. it's nothing personal toward kent.....but making passes like he did last night is unacceptable....

Full speed and no pads? Where do your gameday pads go after the games? Man, I doubt I'd stick around for that myself. I used to love playing backyard ball with no pads, full contact back when I was in my early 20's, but man......I was stupid back then.

I know people that know very secretive things going on with the Stingers' owners. They have told me there are new owners of the team, and that the Pewonskis are gone, as of the morning of the 7th. It should be announced soon, and things should be going better soon. These men are respectable and some of you even know who they are already. They are busy making improvements with the players, Honey Bees, equipment, etc. right now, and we should have our own turf by the next game. The Stingers are improving with every game, when these guys start being treated right (i.e. getting paid and given proper equipment) by the new owners, you will see a new team. Remember that success of a team starts at the top and trickles down.

Flyonthewall......I sure hope that's accurate info you're sharing there. It sounds too good to be true. But I'll reserve judgement for a bit.
Chris - I didn't know the pads were borrowed as well. Wow.....that's a crying dang shame.
