Just saw in a post on OSC that had an article from the Fayetteville paper that Coach Corey Miller and Bobby Jackson had bought the team from Pewonski. The last thing I remember is they took over the management of the team, but don't remember them buying it. If this is true (and I have no reason to doubt it) since Columbia no longer has a connection with Pewonski, what league will the Stingers play in next year and where will they play? Will they keep the "Stingers" name or go with another nickname?

If you look at the SC Secretary of State website you find that Corey Miller is listed as owning the team. As far as the other info., I 'm not sure, I think it is too soon to speculate on possible answers.

The ownership is one matter, and I cannot comment on that right now.
The name/league affiliations however, I would speculate the following:
1. They own the name STINGERS and will be able to keep it for future use. They have far too much invested into that name to give it up lightly. 2. The league? I doubt seriously that the NIFL will even continue to exist into next season, and if it does it will be a bush league effort at the very best. Look for the Columbia Stingers to join a more established league, with much smarter management and more quality opponents.
Remember, we're a first year team, and stuck in a terrible excuse for a league. Give them some credit for the effort they've made and stick with them into next season. I have a reason to believe that we're in for a real treat next year. This will work in Columbia, if we can keep the community interested in the sport!
Get your friends to come out to one of our last home games and support these guys! They're doing things to make this happen for us and the least we can do is show them some support and put some butts in the seats. Let them know we want them and they'll be here for a LONG LONG TIME!!!!!

Yes, Virginia there is a light at the end of the tunnel Stinger fans I also cant comment but, let me assure you that the sun is going to come up in Columbia and the face of arena football is changing daily.
As for the NIFL if you caught one of their footballs in the stands you just might want to keep it because they will be fetching big bucks on ebay soon. Based on my knowledge of arena football I see the NIFL on life support.
I like all my Stinger brothers and sisters and want you to know its going to happen you just have to have faith and trust. I have enjoyed these last few weeks and look forward to Stinger games because they are fun and because you have such a great place to play. I see arena football being in Columbia for a long long time. I hope everybody has the faith and vision I do.
I am now away from the Augusta Spartans getting ready to do some work for the GA Rajun Bulls Ill see all of you this weekend. Im not sure where or what ill be doing next year but will asure you ill be at Stinger games.
GO STINGERS
Speaking from the voice of reason here show your love for the Stingers and write the Stinger ownership a email let them know youre behind them 100%.
But most of all come see the team play and thank the players because alot of people go out of the way to make it all operate the inside of arena football is the side so few see but its different it will make you appreciate things more.
