And unfortunately, we had the 26. Crowd turnout was really good. My personal estimate is around the 2,000 mark. I'm waiting for the official record from the head office. There is a lot to be miffed about with this game, and not the least of all is the Officiating, if you can call it that. I honestly have never seen worse officiating at any level. Pass interference calls on plays that were so clean you could eat off of them, infractions that didn't even make sense when "explained" by the head ref. UGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH I could go on, but I digress. The turnovers killed us again this week. Not too bad in the fumble department, but interceptions were horrible. Kent, I love you man, but you need to put some fire under that ball when you throw it. I give Kent Merideth alot of credit, he put it all on the line taking some massive hits tonight. Some, he shouldn't have gotten up from. He is a warrior. But if there isn't some zip on those passes, we're going to have a ton more interceptions the rest of this season. Brett Bigham and Tremain Tyler got their names called all night long. Some really great play on both sides of the ball from these two. I can't say enough about how badly this game was officiated though. I'm sure it wasn't THE deciding factor but it DEFINITELY contributed. Our boys were in it all the way to the end, but the turnovers and the bad calls killed us. Luckily, we get to play host to the Ft. Meyers Tarpons next Sunday, April 15th at 3pm. I feel a win coming on. I took almost 75 photos of tonight's game and will get them online as soon as possible. Bear with me, the Easter Bunny has to come visit the boys tomorrow and it's 11pm already. Happy Easter everyone, and as always....... [glow=red,2,300]GO STINGERS!!!![/glow]

Well, the "media" timeout was a joke. But at least it took our minds off the refs for a minute and a half.

Even though we are 0-4 at the moment. There has been a TREMENDOUS improvement from the opener to this game. The line was blocking (until the 4th quarter) and the Stingers were moving the ball well...
Meredith did take some massive hits. Especially the one where his helmet flew off and blood was streaming down his face.
And, is it just me or are the Greensboro Revolution a 'dirty' team. Never in my life have I seen such poor sportsmanship and child-like tempers flare so easily...

Long writeup on the game from The State - www.thestate.com/181/story/30253.htmlStruggling offense condemns Stingers to 0-4 start Team commits eight turnovers, produces 26 points in latest loss By CHRIS DEARING - Special to The State For the fourth consecutive game, Columbia’s offense struggled Saturday night in a 39-26 loss to Greensboro in front of 2,555 fans at the Colonial Center. The defense held up its end of the bargain by giving up 12 second-half points, but the offense commited five second-half interceptions, including two near the goal line. Overall, Columbia commited eight turnovers. One of them, an interception by Tito Wooten late in the first half, was returned 25 yards for a touchdown. “It all comes down to mistakes again,” Columbia coach Corey Miller said. “We’ve got to find us a quarterback with better legs and that makes better decisions. We learn to cut out some of the mistakes, and we’ll start winning.” Quarterback Brandon Gant was unavailable due to an injury. Miller hopes to have him back in a couple of weeks. The team’s biggest problem to date has been an offense that averages 24.2 points per game in a league in which teams are geared to average 60 points. “It doesn’t matter if it’s arena ball or outside ball, if you turn it over, you’re not going to win many games,” Miller said. While the Columbia (0-4) offense struggled, Greensboro turned to its rushing game after losing starting quarterback Mike Morrison with a concussion in the first quarter. The Revolution (2-0) ran the ball 28 times for 118 yards and three touchdowns. Colin Harris, Chris Matthews and Dennis Evans scored rushing touchdowns. “We couldn’t get off blocks,” Miller said. “We started late in pads, and we’re just not real physical.” One highlight: The Stingers held their first lead of the season. They took the opening kickoff and capped the possession with a 2-yard quarterback sneak by Kent Merideth. The two-point conversion failed. The lead was short-lived; the Revolution scored on their first offensive play. Dennis Evans scampered around right end for a 25-yard score. Shawn Thomas kicked the extra point and Greensboro never trailed again. Sammy Henderson ran a reverse around left end from 9-yards out to extend the lead to 13-6. Brett Bigham hauled in a 7-yard pass from Merideth to pull the Stingers within one, but they drew no closer. Harris, the back-up quarterback for Greensboro, scored on a 6-yard run to expand the lead to nine, 21-12.

I think things are coming together slowly for the team. Sure, we all want a win, a BIG win! But to see them improving bit by bit and to see the fans enjoying it, and really getting worked up over the officiating, the penalties, etc....that just shows that people are loving this game.

As a Honeybee.. I would appreciate it if the comments left were positive.. The reason for the media timeout was for the mere fact that the sound manager doesn't know how to do his job, so therefore we had to come back out there and perform, since seemingly he can never get our music together when it needs to be together, and by far that was actually a better part of the game, to get some live entertainment.. Honestly we practiced over 8 hours for a performance, and the least we could get was the music to be done right.. thanks for all the compliments, it only makes us strive to be better at what we do **ur #1 HONEYBEE**

Honeybee....no one is slamming the dancers. It's the idea of stopping the game the way they did for a half time show. It's a management issue, not a performance issue. I was in the stands, and the people around me were in awe that the game was stopped for a dance routine. Put yourself in our position. We came to watch a football game. We were interrupted during a pretty crucial time (which also gave our opponents a rest period they didn't earn) to watch a half time show. I'm not saying you gals didn't do a good job, we LOVE YOU......but a half-time show should happen during HALF TIME. Honeybee.....I appreciate everything you and the gals do for us. You're the best looking squad in the league and I know you work had for us. Email me and we'll work something up on the Nest for ya'll. Just understand that negative comments here are well deserved, and there are NO personal attacks tolerated at the Stingers Nest.

???Yeah this is true, but when do you do your half time show if the music is continuously getting messed up.. as far as getting ZIP to meet some of the kids, just let me know where and when you want him to be somewhere in the stands, and I can see what I can work out for ya.. I may have a little pull being that I am a Honeybee... Thanks for all the compliments and we hope to be working with you in the near future... if anyone wants to contact the honeybees for any appearances, then you can email me here or at alexis_allen@hotmail.com... thanks a million and we look forward to serving you in the near future... GO STINGERS

"I may have a little pull being that I am a Honeybee" Sorry honeybee, but that made me laugh, lol.... My wife even said you guys are doing much better than the first game. Of course, 4 weeks of practice gets stuff in line. I am glad you didn't get tackled this past game too .

The Honey Bees have changed some things after this past game, I think quality over quantity is our new thing! Let us know what you think about the improvements after this Sunday's game!
