Last night's game shows something that you all don't see. The stingers fought to stay in this game until the end and almost pulled it off. how many touchdowns were called back? there were alot of personal fouls but that tells me that the players are not going to lay down and have developed some backbone. The o-line played alot better but had some lapses at times. The defense played better but seemed to break at the worst of times. As for Kent #12 maybe the inside game is not his best but how many stupid int's did their qb throw? The league avg is 3 per game.He is not a runner but he will stick it out in a tough game.

who cares about the league average for int's? it is the same for the past 4 weeks....turnovers and last night stupid personal fouls by the stingers.....you are playing on a 50 yard field....giving up 15 yards on a bonehead deadball foul is ridiculous.....greensboro was not getting the calls...they are a dirty team at times......but my main worry was the stingers making costly mistakes.

and you talk about backbone? getting stupid personal fouls don't show that you developed backbone.....shows lack of coaching and disipline....and yes the stingers did hang in there and they may have won if you benched #12, took away all the bonehead personal fouls, and not turn the ball over (see benching #12).....

According to the State article, Brandon Simms has been injured...it seems Coach Miller wants to put him in, but can't.

Here is an idea....Keep the QB upright and he might be able to do something!

Here is an idea....Keep the QB upright and he might be able to do something! I agree, when he's on his back he can't do much. But it was when he wasn't on his back throwing into the middle of the line, hitting a defensive lineman in the numbers with a pass....that's what's got us upset. I don't think anyone is being unfair towards Kent. Sure, it's not fun to be talked badly about, but it comes with the job of QB....ask ANY QB anywhere. It's certainly not a personal attack, just a fan observation that he isn't getting the job done for us right now.

Here are some thoughts on what I saw last night. . . 1. I bought season tickets to see arena-style football. Up and down the field passing action. If I see another draw on 1st down, I'm going to scream. 2. Something has to be done about qb play. Yes, Meredith has line problems, but he makes way too many stupid mistakes But, probably the worst thing I've ever seen in an organization. . . 3. The "7:00 media time out" to let the Honeybees dance in the middle of the 4th quarter. COME ON! We're there to watch a football game. That tells me that the organization has little, if any, professionalism. I have never left a football game before the end of the 4th quarter in my entire life. When the Stingers decided it was time to dance in the middle of the 4th quarter, I left.

Guys what I meant about the personal fouls was I would rather see a team fight back instead of hanging their heads when it gets dirty, and last night was the first time they didnt hang their heads.

To have more turnovers than TD's in indoor play is inexusable. As for the QB situation, Mike Rathe started the year in Florence (after a stint with Augusta last year). Florence in the AIFA has 2 steady QB's Oscar Davenport (from UNC) and Rathe. Florence has had their problems too lately and seems to be sitting Rathe. I say the Stingers need to contact Rathe about playing back in Columbia. A wise old veteran once told me that the game is won and lost by how well or bad the o-line plays. They hold their blocks and give the QB time to throw, then the turnovers and hurried attempts are a non issue. As far as the media timeouts are concerned - this an industry standard. Officials in indoor leagues work with the home teams. One of the things they understand is that promotions and having a dance team perform during a timeout is part of the game. In the AIFA, usually the "media timeout" is when a team calls the timeout and they let the timeout last a little longer to do the extras in the indoor game. I think it's something that can be modified though. If a team doesn't call the timeout, don't just stop the flow of the game for a media timeout. In the minor leagues it's not like there's going to be a lot of tv or radio coverage. They will work their ads in. Stations that broadcasts high school games work through the lack of timeouts to still get their ads in.
