Congrats to the Columbia Stingers for putting on an excellent show! Now, all we need to do is truly convince Corey Miller that Brandon Sims needs to be under center, for every play. All the while teaching the WR corp how to catch a ball. We do that, Columbia can go far .

Last nights joke was not the quarterbacks fault, the stingers had not practiced in pads before the game and found out they have a bunch of soft linemen who can't or won't hit some one.You can't run an offense without blockers.#74 gave up in the first half and was nothing more than taking up space. If the stingers don't get some linemen from somewere look for alot more losses and the team dying before seasons end

that is true....defense was weak and linemen could not block.....if it was'nt for earl cameron having to clip guys and block every snap, the qb would've been sacked 100 times...

This is #24 Brian Elam... The team got their first taste of live contact last night and we were not proud of our performance. But I will say that I will put it on my self to make sure it doesn't happen again. We will increase the intensity and give the fans what they really want!!! That's my word!!!! BAm BAM

Elam - You guys played very well for a team that's only been together for a few short weeks. By the time April 7th rolls around I have a feeling we're going to see a different team .

I would not agree with the" weak defense ".You can't put your defense in that many bad positions in any leauge and not give up points. The O-line is suspect, the center , who I have played against, is better than he played last night, But the tackles have no heart and no shame.I don't know if it was the big Samoan for the Marshals was that good or were the O-line that bad. By the way ncxcstud you an Indian? me too!played Noseguard for the Indians. How many guys on the Stingers played for Newberry. Sucks about the mascot ? And for Brian Elam keep your chin up help maybe already on its way

FINALLY someone gets the NC in my name and doesn't think it stands for North Carolina . Emil Gibson from Newberry is on the Stingers (#29) and plays defensive end. I never played football for Newberry, but I didn't run cross country for them (hence the XC in my screen name). I've been trying to convince my friend, Adam Scott (who played DE for newberry) to try out for the Stingers. Solely so I could score free tickets, lol. But, he said he wouldn't try out unless I did so...lol. yeah, stinks about the mascot. I still question whether or not they'll change it, but if they do I'd like the college teams to be known as the Scarlet and Grey or just the Scarlet.

yes, you are gonna give up points in indoor football, but the defense i'm sorry....was weak. not bad overall for a first game though.....i know tye gibson, and i know he is gonna work on the defense this week......offense was not good either.....to many fumbles and #12 was not even close to being good. points were scored, but too many on "luck" plays......hail mary, bobbled catches. those were good and i was happy, but i would rather see designed football scores, not lucky scores. i don't/won't sugar-coat my comments.....i will be there supporting this team, but if i see things as a fan i don't like, i will say it. as a former football player, i would respect that and i hope the stingers do to......truth hurts sometimes, but it makes you work harder......the reward will be greater in the end.

The product on the field was manufactured by a lot of factors. No REAL practice time, a short pre-season to get ready and the question of "will we even have turf to play on"?
However, for many fans attending, that was their first taste of Indoor Football, and even though we couldn't walk away with the win, we walked away with some respect. You could tell that those in attendance enjoyed what they saw and many are likely to return to see how much you've improved.
I stand behind the team, and look forward to a winning season. Brian, you and your teammates are always welcome at the Stingers Nest! Thanks for taking part!

Bill, every one I heard talking at the game had a good time and I will bring my family back to see all the home games until our semi pro season starts. Stinger1 , Kent Merideth #12 is a fine quarterback with a rifle for an arm,if he gets two things he will pick apart any team in the leauge #1 a center that can get the ball to him.#2 a line that can keep out defenders for 4 seconds. That the Stingers don't have! If Ya'll don't want Kent we the Anderson Reddawgs will gladly take him back. He lead us to a 10-4 record last year with the second highest scoring offense in the leauge. Don't say that the NIFL is higher level of ball cause it ain't. The Reddawgs can suit up any 20 of our players and beat the crap out of either of the teams that played last night

well, granted that it was the first game and i never saw him play, he may be good. i agree that if the center learns how to play football and the o-line could block...he might be a great qb....so i appologize to him and his teamates.....but, as a qb in indoor ball, you only have maybe 2 seconds to do anything.....he just needs to adjust i guess. o-line was terrible though. as for semi-pro, what league you guys in? nafl? the charleston firecats last year would've played you, and won!!! no, good luck with the semi-pro league, hope you guys do well.

In response to little number 64. #1 There were no tryouts in Anderson so don't use that lame excuse. #2 Pay attention I have personally beat up on the Reddawgs twice once with the Kershaw Wildcats and with the Express. So talk is all you have and that is an open invitation to stop talking and come prove it. With best wishes on your upcoming season .
